The award-winning Targeter was designed in response to a brief from leading interventional radiologist, Dr Ben Timmis. It is a single use tool for targeting a needle under live X-ray, keeping the radiologist’s hands out of the X-ray path. Encapsulated steel spheres help to align the tool, improving the accuracy of needle positioning, minimising the number of attempts at the target and reducing stess and pain for the patient. Initially conceived for vascular procedures, it also offers benefits to bariatric surgery.
